Linux-based computer servers are so reliable that with proper setting and maintenance, many of them can stay running without needing restart or reboot for years. But sometimes this great advantage can mean trouble.
A network technician asked the branch manager,"What's the usual procedure to reboot this Linux server?"
"I don't know. I never done that.", the manager said,"Why don't you just follow the last one you guys used?".
The technician frowned,"Only Fred knew it, but..."
"Well, just call him up!"
"I can't. He quit six years ago."
